While there are so many incredibly talented artists who present at the Cherry Creek Art Festival, today, we are going to highlight a few that we are really excited to visit this year, with curating art for interiors in mind.
It took a lot of work to narrow this list down to a digestible list, but we intend to get you all excited and out to the festival this weekend. We recognise that these artists may not speak to you, but we are excited to hear about the ones who do, and we hope to see you there!
Based in South Carolina, his artwork is rich in technique, layers, and colour. From graphite pencil lines to rich gold leafing, we love how he depicts nature in his paintings.
Based in Colorado, he is an incredible contemporary collage artist. His artwork is typically made from paper and metal. This booth is fun to visit because it changes yearly, from handmade frames to large sculptural animal busts.
This husband and wife team from South Carolina uses oil and linen as a medium to recreate scenes found in midcentury modern photos they have collected. The neon colors and oil underlay technique make it hard not to smile when viewing their work.
He creates mixed media pieces in Florida using painting techniques on layered surfaces. His playful use of color and imagery and how he floats the top layer of acrylic glass draws us in for a closer look.
This Tennessee-based artist uses multiple photographs to create a single digital modern art image. He then turns it into a unique mixed-media collage. The main image stands out, even after the intricate layering process.
Based in Arizona, he uses oil on canvas to paint urban settings. We could spend a lot of time in his booth, admiring the detail in each piece. The depth and motion in his work immerse you in the moment created.
She creates “scissor drawings” from New York by cutting images she has drawn onto black paper and gluing them onto watercolor paper. The minimalist style of her drawings belies the patience required to cut out all those intricate details.
She stages fictional scenes in Missouri and photographs them using the tintype method. Some of our favourite pieces are from her “memories collection,” where the subject appears almost ghostly due to shorter exposure.
This Colorado artist creates layers and dimensions using graphite, charcoal, ink, and pigment on wood. Her pieces are full of beautiful movement and energy.
Originally from Poland and now based in Texas, she uses herself as the subject in photographic imagery inspired by the poetry of Halina Poswiatowska.
From Illinois, he creates original wood sculptures that reflect moments from the past. While they are all statement pieces, some favourites use hidden mounting brackets to create realistic scenes. As he says, “Art that your neighbors won’t have.”
Based in Iowa, she uses clay to sculpt ordinary people living life, from small observed moments to an internal search for purpose and identity. Each piece tells a different story, and we loved learning about the meaning behind the “line down the middle.”
She is a painter and sculptor based in Missouri who uses nature to inspire pieces with organic shapes and textures.
If you’re an existing client and need help curating a piece of artwork for your home, we are happy to offer the art curation service at an hourly rate. For new clients, this service can be included within their scope. Please let us know if you have any questions about the process.
